Hi all,

The ODF Toolkit team is pleased to announce the first beta of ODF Toolkit
1.0.0 (using >=JDK 9) and also a release candidate of ODF Toolkit 0.9.0
(using JDK 8).
A preliminary list of changes is available in our release notes [1]

All new ODF Toolkit components (with their binary, source and JavaDoc
bundles) are available in the central Maven repository under Group ID
"org.apache.odftoolkit" and Version "1.0.0-BETA1" and "0.9.0-RC1" and are
referenced by the README [2]

Kind regards,
Svante

PS: If someone has provided some patch(es) and would like to be listed in
the developer's section of the pom.xml and on the website, just provide a
patch and you are in! :-)

Greetings from Spain!

Just a short heads-up from the now ending LibreOffice conference here in
Almería (Spain) <https://libocon.org/>.

I was able to fix several Maven and platform related issues on the
0.9.0-SNAPSHOT (i.e. master) and 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT branches.
Both branches had been tested to compile and provide reasonable results
under Linux, Windows and Mac by myself.
In addition, I have now moved my personal collaboration branch
<https://github.com/svanteschubert/odftoolkit/tree/odf-changes> as the
new official 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT branch to our repository.
This collaboration 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT branch includes my former open-source
work on the ODFDOM fork of Open-XChange and the sponsored work of the
Prototype Fund.
Thanks, both for their support! :-)

My plan is now to do ASAP two Maven releases for both branches (just need
to refresh my Nexus know-how)

   - 0.9.0-RC-1 -- using JDK 8
   - 1.0.0-BETA-1 -- using >JDK 9 tested with JDK 12

I will write the known minor issues (e.g. logging) of the BETA branch on
the Wiki and continue to add further documentation.

If you like to play around a bit you might build the 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT and
test the "ODF change" creation by command line, for instance via:

*java -jar
odfdom\target\odfdom-java-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT-jar-with-dependencies.jar
odfdom\target\test-classes\test-input\character-styles.odt*

I have started to document the operations on:
https://tdf.github.io/odftoolkit/docs/odfdom/operations/operations.html

Cheers,
Svante

PS: Note, I incidentally named the branch 1.0.0_SNAPSHOT instead of
1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.
